Claire Bedat, ASLA, RLA, LEED AP ND is an associate at RTKL Associates Inc., a multidisciplinary practice with worldwide markets and offices located in four continents. Claire’s 12 years of professional experience include two years as a landscape architect in an architectural firm in Boulder, Colorado and nine years as a project manager and designer in a two-person landscape architect firm in Washington D.C., which she helped expand to 12 employees. During those years she worked on a wide range of projects, from small residential designs to large mixed-use developments and built up a set of well-rounded skills. In 2010, she created her own firm and was self-employed prior to joining RTKL in June 2011. At RTKL, Claire further broadened her horizons, with access to a vast portfolio of works here in the United States and abroad, including China and Saudi Arabia. Her focus is on redefining the urban landscape, promoting green infrastructure, community building and water conservation.
Claire received her bachelors degree in landscape architecture from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), the U.S. Green Building Council, and the American Institute of Architects (AIA). She also sits on a Design Excellence Committee for the Washington Chapter of the AIA.
