Program Overview
Earn 21 Professional Development Hours
Professional development hours (PDH) is the term that ASLA and the Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System (LA CES) use to describe how much credit a course carries. PDH is listed with each session description of the annual meeting that qualifies for continuing education through LA CES. Sessions that have been registered with other continuing education systems are indicated as such using the abbreviations from the key below. Updates will be added to specific session descriptions regularly as credits are approved. Other continuing education systems may use different formulas for calculating the amount of credit a course may receive in their systems.
LA CES/HSW | Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System, Health, Safety, and Welfare compliant content. |
LA CES/ non-HSW | Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System, non-Health, Safety, and Welfare compliant content |
GBCI | Green Building Certification Institute (for U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED credential maintenance) |
AICP | American Institute of Certified Planners |
AIA | American Institute of Architects Continuing Education System |
FL | Florida Board of Landscape Architecture |
NY/HSW | New York State Board for Landscape Architecture, Health, Safety, and Welfare compliant content. |
NY/non-HSW | New York State Board for Landscape Architecture, non-Health, Safety, and Welfare compliant content. |
More than 135 education sessions, field sessions, workshops, and general sessions will be offered throughout the meeting. Full registration offers access to 21 PDH toward maintenance of your state license (where mandated); earn more hours by participating in ticketed field sessions or workshops.
Attendance Reporting – ASLA uses an electronic tracking system for education programs to provide attendance verification for PDH. During the meeting, attendees must arrive within the first 15 minutes of a session to be counted. Attendees may stop by the Interactive 360 kiosks, sponsored by Landscape Forms, to obtain real time proof of their programs attended during the meeting. Following the meeting, ASLA will provide attendees with a certificate providing proof of the PDH earned during the annual meeting to submit to state boards and other continuing education systems , where required.
The exact number of hours accepted for licensure purposes may vary by state, but ASLA has made every effort to structure educational opportunities that adhere to the most widely acknowledged guidelines of state registration boards requiring continuing education. Specific questions should be directed to your state licensing board.
