Groundwork: Conversations on Disaster Recovery - ASLA Forum Series
When disaster strikes, recovery is more than rebuilding—it’s a journey shaped by experience, resilience, and the lessons learned along the way. These four regionally focused forums are opportunities for ASLA members to come together, share their stories, and talk openly about what worked, what didn’t, and what still needs to be done.
These discussions bring together members who have lived through wildfires, floods, hurricanes, and other disasters to reflect on challenges, exchange ideas, and explore ways to build stronger, more adaptable communities. These conversations will be real, interactive, peer-driven discussions hosted by ASLA President Kona Gray, FASLA, PLA. Learn more and register.

Past Events
Diversity Summit

In 2013, ASLA convened its first Diversity Summit with the goal of developing a deeper understanding of why landscape architecture is failing to attract a more diverse profile. Each summit has brought together a group of experienced and emerging landscape architects who identify as African American or Latinx to design strategies to address issues of diversity, equity and inclusion in the field.
Public Awareness Summit

Beginning in 2011, the ASLA Public Awareness Summit brought together representatives from ASLA’s 49 chapters to plan the coming year’s public awareness initiatives. Attendees participated in group discussions to determine public awareness strategies and tactics ASLA will implement nationally and locally for the year.
Advocacy Summit

The Advocacy Summit brought together representatives from 30+ chapters to discuss and build upon chapter government affairs and advocacy efforts focused at the state and local level. Attendees learn about the current political and legislative environment, as it relates to licensure and other issues, and receive training on best practices in government affairs and advocacy.
