Manager, Digital/Social Media Communications
Currently, ASLA is recruiting for a highly motivated Manager, Digital/Social Media Communications to develop ASLA’s strategies and content across all of its digital and social media platforms, in support of ASLA’s mission, goals and advocacy campaigns, manage ASLA’s social media calendar and posts, and manage and produce marketing, promotional, and informational emails aimed at member audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates, produces, and schedules social media outreach and promotion for all of ASLA’s departments, programs, events, advocacy efforts, and awareness campaigns, in order to increase public understanding of landscape architecture and to communicate value to internal member audiences, and that is consistent with ASLA’s positions on climate action and racial equality.
- Develops strategies to expand and enhance ASLA’s social media presence for public, professional, and member audiences, using such channels as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. Fosters message and graphic consistency across digital platforms, and for digital content developed throughout ASLA by staff in other departments.
- Tracks analytics for social media and digital outreach efforts and makes periodic reports on reach, audience segmentation, and effectiveness.
- Creates and acquires images and video assets for use on social media and other digital platforms (using internal and external imagery, depending on need and cost).
- Works closely with the Manager of Media Relations to develop and implement comprehensive, broad-based, cross-platform campaigns and advocacy, promotional, and awareness efforts, including annual events such as World Landscape Architecture Month and PARK(ing) Day.
- Works closely with all ASLA departments to develop, create, and distribute timely and relevant digital messaging via social media, email, and online platforms. Develops member email messaging in coordination with Director of Member & Chapter Services, and aligned with social media strategy/messaging.
- Coordinates and implements social media coverage at the annual ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture.
Qualifications:
- BA degree in Marketing, English, Communications, Digital Management, or related field.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in digital communications, social media management, public relations, digital marketing, or related field. Experience in a trade association or member-driven organization a plus.
- Expert familiarity with search-engine and social network-based advertising campaigns, and all social media platforms.
- Knowledge of media and social monitoring platforms, e.g. Meltwater, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or similar systems; content management system, e.g. Wordpress; Google Workspace suite; CRM (e.g. Hubspot); website content and cloud-based email management systems; Vimeo, YouTube, and video editing and production software.
- Superior writing and editorial skill are mandatory; excellent verbal, computer, and interpersonal communications skills.
- Well-organized with very strong attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines. Must have a collaborative mindset.
Salary: $75,000/yr.
