Manager, Marketing & Market Development
Currently, ASLA is recruiting for a highly motivated Manager, Marketing & Market Development to manage marketing strategies and programs for ASLA’s revenue-generating products, events, and services consistent with the ASLA’s overall Strategic Plan. This includes focusing on the organization, supporting members, vendors, monitoring market-share, manages application of the ASLA brand in marketing deliverables, communicating internally, effectively managing a budget and planning and executing strategies. The portfolio includes but is not limited to: Membership (Individual and Corporate), the Conference on Landscape Architecture, Landscape Architecture Magazine, and related ASLA sites.
Responsibilities:
- Works in collaboration with the director, key staff, and vendors to develop and implement annual, integrated marketing plans. Manages the marketing budget and assists director and CFO in developing budget projections.
- Executes systematic project management to achieve program goals, meet or exceed revenue targets, and ensure on-time completion of all marketing and membership campaigns. Drafts, edits, and deploys marketing campaigns, inclusive of direct mail and electronic membership drives.
- Assists Director of Communications & Marketing in reviewing statistical evidence to determine key metrics and benchmarks for measuring success, setting near and long-term growth targets.
- Leads development and management of all assets for the annual Conference on Landscape Architecture, including but not limited to conference website, mobile app, member electronics communications (email messages), and printed materials as needed, always adhering to brand guidelines.
- Manages production of both print and digital marketing and promotional materials, including brochures, ads, solicitations, and web sites; sources and manages vendors, and ensures adherence to brand guidelines.
- Supports Director of Membership in the development of member and market research, leveraging available data to identify trends and determine customer satisfaction and needs.
- Researches and initiates co-marketing exchanges with allied organizations to support product portfolio, coordinates placements of ad trades and house ads.
- Manages ASLA’s Google Adwords Grant, including creating and updating Adwords campaigns to market ASLA Conferences, products, services, and major initiatives.
- Works in partnership with Director of Communications & Marketing and other ASLA staff and volunteers to advance ASLA’s mission, strategic objectives, and priority issues.
Qualifications:
- BA degree in Marketing or related field. Graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing and program promotion; experience in marketing with trade associations/nonprofit and membership-driven organizations, and knowledge of design, planning, and/or environmental issues are advantages.
- In-depth knowledge of marketing and promotion strategy and techniques; exemplary project management skills.
- Experience with campaign management, segmentation, data-variable membership drives, and list acquisition and management.
- Exceptional writing and editing capabilities; excellent verbal, computer, and interpersonal communications skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) applications required; working knowledge of HTML; experience with content management systems for web site design and development, including .NET-based CMS, Wordpress,as well CRMs (e.g. Hubspot).
- Experience managing Google Adwords accounts. Comprehensive understanding of web and social media analytics.
- Strong relationship-building skills; ability to confidently engage/inspire internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Ability to anticipate and resolve problems.
- Well-organized with very strong attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines. Must have a collaborative mindset.
Salary: $75,000/yr.
