Advocacy
- Conducts legislative and regulatory outreach to educate policymakers about the healthy, sustainable solutions landscape architects provide to the problems facing communities.
- Supports licensure of the practice of landscape architecture within the United States and its territories.
- Fights for small landscape architecture firms and helps them compete more effectively in the marketplace.
- Partners with leading design and environmental organizations to promote green infrastructure, sustainable community design and development, and safe and walkable transportation systems.
Communication
Education
- Supports the development of research and continuing education initiatives that enable practitioners to address the evolving challenges of landscape architectural practice.
- Provides career discovery activities to K-12 teachers, students, and their families.
- Sponsors hundreds of hours of professional development and continuing education programs for landscape architects to maintain their licenses.
Fellowship
- Hosts the Conference on Landscape Architecture each year, the world’s largest gathering of landscape architecture professionals and students − some 6,000 attendees get access to more than 130 continuing educations sessions and events and more than 450 exhibitors’ products and services in one central location.
- Provides an online forum of Professional Practice Networks (PPNs) and a member directory to enable networking, exchanges on professional opportunities, and sharing of best practices and research.
