Brian E. Bainnson, ASLA, PLA, principal at Quatrefoil Inc., is a landscape architect with more than 28 years experience in planning and designing environments for people. In 1998, Brian led the Portland Memory Garden design team for the Oregon ASLA Chapter, developing an award-winning therapeutic garden for people with Alzheimer’s, their families, and caregivers. Since 1998, Brian has designed over 24 therapeutic gardens around the U.S., including gardens for Wounded Warriors at Walter Reed National Medical Center and Ft. Belvoir Medical Center. All of these gardens are used for active patient therapy as well as restorative places for patients, families, and caregivers.
What unites Brian's projects is an understanding of the context, an attention to detail, and an ability to understand and give life to the clients expectations. Design and planning are blended with an understanding of the technical complexities of building projects and how to work with contractors and control for fiscal realities.
