Join Us for Groundwork: Western Region

From wildfires in California to volcanic activity in Hawai‘i, glacial melt in Alaska, and intense heat across the Southwest, the Western U.S. faces a wide range of climate and disaster challenges. Recovery here is complex—and deeply rooted in the land, the people, and the lessons learned along the way.

Join ASLA for its next region-specific session of Groundwork: Conversations on Disaster Recovery. Landscape architects from the Northwest, Southwest, Hawai‘i, and Alaska will share stories from the frontlines.

Hosted by ASLA President Kona Gray, FASLA, PLA, this forum is a chance to reflect, connect, and discuss how we as a profession can support more resilient recovery in the places we call home.

These are real, interactive conversations—designed for ASLA members, shaped by your experiences, and focused on what comes next.
