New Opportunities with the US Composting Council

In June 2023, the US Composting Council (USCC) and ASLA entered a working partnership. This allows our association to work alongside ASLA to provide current and industry-relevant information on compost application and its impacts on soil and the landscape.
Over the last six months, the USCC has presented to a national ASLA audience on compost standards and the basics of compost specification and also attended and had a trade show booth at the 2023 ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture in Minneapolis, MN.
The ASLA Climate Action Plan and its vision of healthy communities, increased carbon drawdown, and ecosystem restoration align with the USCC’s mission and vision. We see composting and compost application as a tangible and quantifiable climate solution. We’re looking forward to sharing how compost is a key resource when designing climate resilient landscapes.
The USCC is hosting its annual conference February 6–9 in Daytona Beach, Florida.
We’re excited to offer ASLA members a single day, 75% discount code to attend our conference sessions and tradeshow on Wednesday, February 7.
This includes: Compost and Climate Resilient Landscapes: A USCC Collaboration with the American Society of Landscape Architects - a session featuring ASLA Immediate Past President Emily O’Mahoney, LA CES approved-provider Charles Duprey, and award winning research professor and writer Dr. Sally Brown. Following the session, we’ll host a networking meet and greet for landscape architects and leaders from the compost industry.
If you’re interested in attending our annual conference, please go to https://compostconference.com/ to learn more about the event.
And if you’re interested in taking advantage of the ASLA single day registration discount, please fill out this pre-registration form to receive your ASLA discount code or contact mball@compostingcouncil.org for details.
USCC would like to thank ASLA for their partnership and support. We look forward to a productive and collaborative 2024!
