Canal Terminus
The terminus of the canal is marked by a circular basin with a large water jet at its center. The park includes a low seawall along the canal perimeter allowing safe access to the water. Lawn panels, plantings, and interpretive features edge the canal and provide access to the surrounding buildings.

Pavilion
A playground, a park pavilion, and an abundance of outdoor seating are located along the water’s edge. Mature trees provide welcome shade throughout. The Charles River Boat Company has a dock here where it offers boat tours and charter trips along the Charles River and into Boston Harbor.

Galleria Mall
Eye-level view looking cross the canal basin towards the Galleria mall and nearby mixed-use and residential buildings. A continuous promenade lines the circular basin and extends to the Charles River.

Museum of Science
The Museum of Science has expanded to fill most of the space where the earthen 1910 Charles River Dam once connected with Olmsted’s Charlesbank in Boston. A pedestrian walkway on the upstream side of the museum has been proposed to connect with the Cambridge and Boston esplanades.

Yacht Club
The Charlesgate Yacht Club as well as public moorings are located along this stretch of the riverfront on the Cambridge side.
