Maria Bellalta, ASLA, joined the Boston Architectural College (BAC) as the head of the landscape architecture program in the summer of 2011. She holds a Master in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Fine Arts from the University of Norte Dame.

Prior to joining the BAC, Maria was design director for the Cambridge studio of Martha Schwartz Partners, where she oversaw multiple national and international billion-dollar design ventures.

Throughout her professional career, she has worked for prestigious design firms in the Boston area, including Sasaki Associates, Copley Wolff Design Group, and her own LTX Urban Landscapes Studio.

She has worked on planning and urban design projects throughout the United States and the Middle East, with an emphasis on the sustainable design of civic spaces and new urban landscapes. 

In 2013, the Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF) awarded Maria a research fellowship to measure the performance of contemporary built landscapes.

Michael Sadler is a Master of Landscape Architecture candidate and research assistant at the Boston Architectural College. He holds a bachelor degree in anthropology from Elon University. He has always been interested in the intersections of horticulture, social research, built environments, and education.

He has spent time working for the Wilderness Society in North Carolina as well as Timberlake Farms, a small nonprofit in North Carolina focused on naturalist approaches to education and community outreach.

His current professional and academic life focus primarily on the connections between aging urban infrastructures, developmental policy, and landscape architecture.
