Chinatown Park
The southernmost end of the Rose Kennedy Greenway occurs at Chinatown Park. Designed by Carol R. Johnson Associates and Chinese landscape architect Yu Kongjian, the park serves as the major open space and gateway to the largest Chinatown community in New England.

Located directly in front of Boston’s South Station – an intermodal center with train, subway, and bus connections – Dewey Square is a busy urban plaza designed in part by Machado and Silvetti Associates and Utile, Inc.

The most garden-like segments of the Greenway, the Fort Point Channel Parks and Urban Arboretum are carefully planted to provide year-round seasonal interest. The parks were originally designed by Halvorson Design Partnership in association with the Massachusetts Horticultural Society, with additional subsequent planting design by Wolf Landscape Architecture.

The Wharf District Parks, designed by AECOM (formerly EDAW) and Copley Wolff Design Group, is the largest segment of the Rose Kennedy Greenway and includes a number of other sub-spaces including the new Carousel, Boston Harbor Islands Pavilion, and Mother’s Walk.

Designed by Tellalian Associates Architects & Planners with landscape architecture by Stantec, the Armenian Heritage Park is a small gem within the greenway. The space acts as a crossroads for people traveling between the North End Parks, Wharf District Parks, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, and Christopher Columbus Park.

The northernmost of the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway Parks, the North End Parks, were designed by Gustafson Guthrie Nichol Ltd. and Crosby Schlessinger Smallridge. These two parks provide a connection between the historic North End and Government Center, home of Boston’s City Hall building.
