Melissa Desjardins, ASLA

With ten years and a wide-range of experience, Melissa Desjardins’ multifaceted approach to site design stems from her experience in a myriad of projects seen from concept through construction. Projects include the preservation of historic estates; rehabilitation of parks and streetscapes; design of green roofs and courtyards; and the planning of campus, rooftop and therapeutic gardens.

In the spring of 2013, she switched her focus from the public to private realm (ending her bicycle commute, much to her dismay) when she joined Dan Gordon Associates in Wellesley, MA. Prior to her current position, she worked as a landscape architect at Copley Wolff Design Group, Pressley Associates, and the Cecil Group.

Melissa sat on the executive committee of the Boston Society of Landscape Architects for 6 years as the Emerging Professionals chairwoman and secretary. After obtaining her LEED Accreditation, she chaired the events committee for the USGBC’s Emerging Green Builders and participated in the sustainability committee for the Urban Land Institute.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture at University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and spent a semester studying architecture and urban design in Copenhagen, Denmark.
