News from the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration
Boards
CLARB has selected Thomson Prometric to administer the multiple-choice
sections of the Landscape Architect Registration Examination through their
network of computer testing centers. Examinees can register for multiple-choice
tests at www.clarb.org.
Questions about the LARE, including administration should be directed
to the examinations department of CLARB at 703-319-8380. For 2007 the
Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (www.clarb.org)
has established the following exam dates:
Multiple-Choice Exam Sections (Sections A, B and D)
March 11& 12, 2008 - Sections A & B
March 12& 13, 2008 - Section D
September 16 & 17, 2008 - Sections A & B
September 17& 18, 2008 - Section D
Graphic Exam Sections (Sections C and E)
June 9, 2008 Section C Site Design 5 hours 8:00 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.
June 10, 2008 Section E Grading, Drainage and Stormwater Management 5 hours
8:00 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.
It is important for applicants to contact the registration board in the state or province in which they wish to take the test to determine specific information about schedule, locations and application deadlines.

Review Sessions:
Several ASLA chapters are sponsoring Landscape Architecture Registration
Examination (LARE) prep courses in 2008. ASLA will update this list as
additional information becomes available. This section of ASLA Online
will be updated as additional information arrives. General state licensure
information can be found using the drop down menu Government Affairs/Licensure.
2008 Schedule
Colorado
The LARE review sessions in Colorado will be scheduled in advance of
the examination dates for each section.

Georgia
The School of Environmental Design in conjunction with the Georgia Chapter
ASLA, offer two review courses each year for practicing professionals
preparing to sit for the national Landscape Architecture Registration
Exam (LARE). Each of the two review courses are structured differently
as outlined below.
Fall 2008 LARE Review Session (November 7th and 8th, 2008)
The fall review session only covers the (2) graphic vignette sections
(C & E) of the LARE exam as well as the State of Georgia Component.
This review is intended for practicing professionals who are looking for
supplemental instruction towards passing the graphic vignette sections
of the LARE. Attendees will receive nearly 8 hours of instruction for
each of the vignette sections instead of the 4 hours allocated to each
vignette section during the spring review. The fall review is typically
held in Caldwell Hall in October or November and lasts for two days. Registration
begins in August 2007.
Spring 2009 LARE Review Session (February 26th, 27th, and 28th,
2009)
The spring review session covers all five LARE sections as well as the
State of Georgia Component. The spring review is geared towards practicing
professionals who are preparing to take the exam for the first time or
individuals who need additional assistance in preparing for particular
LARE sections. The review is typically held in February at The Georgia
Center for Continuing Education in Athens, Georgia and lasts for three
full days. Registration begins in December 2008.
Please note that attendance at each review session is limited. All seats
at the review are distributed on a first come first serve basis. Early
registration is recommended.

LARE Review – The ILASLA Annual LARE Review session will
be held on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Naperville Campus of DePaul
University. Instructors for this year will be Andi and Jason Cooper and
the focus of will be the graphic response sections C and E. Cost is $110
for ILASLA members and $135 for non-members. Deadline for registration

NJASLA LARE REVIEW SEMINAR - Sunday, January 27, 2008
In conjunction with the NJASLA 2008 Annual Meeting.
9:30AM - 12:30PM and 1:30PM – 3:30PM Lunch Included.
Speakers: Dave Lustberg, ASLA, CLA & Elaine Mills, ASLA, RLA
Description: This 5-hour review course will cover all five sections of
the LARE exam, as well as the New Jersey Section. An exam environment
will be simulated by having the candidates work though sample vignettes
for Sections C and E. Efficient solutions and time management strategies
will be explored. Multiple choice references will be discussed. Seminar
fees include course instructions, handouts, continental breakfast &
deli lunch buffet.
Participants are encouraged to attend the remaining Sunday concurrent
sessions and the NJASLA Executive Committee meeting. These exceptional
