ASLA Membership Categories, Qualifications, and How to Join Membership in ASLA offers many benefits. There are eight categories of membership, from student to corporate; read below to find the type of membership that fits you best. You can apply online or through the mail. If you have any questions, please contact ASLA Member Services. All ASLA professional members must agree to abide by the principles contained in the Society's Constitution and Bylaws and Code of Professional Ethics.
Full Member: National Dues $290 Graduate from an accredited landscape architecture program or a program recognized by the Society and/or is state licensed to practice landscape architecture AND has 3 or more years of professional experience. Associate Member: First Year National Dues $145 Graduate from an accredited landscape architecture program or a program recognized by the Society AND has less than 3 years professional experience. National dues start at $145 for the first year followed by a graduated dues structure through the third year of membership. After the third year of membership, associate members are automatically upgraded full membership and pay full member dues. Affiliate Member: National Dues $290 Individual that does not have a degree in landscape architecture and is not state licensed to practice landscape architecture but is employed in a related field or discipline such as planning, architecture, civil engineering OR a supplier or manufacturer of products or services to the landscape architecture profession. Student Member: National Dues $43 Enrolled in an accredited landscape architecture program or a program recognized by the Society, leading to an undergraduate or graduate degree or certificate in landscape architecture. Student Affiliate Member: National Dues $43 Enrolled in an unaccredited landscape architecture program or a program that is not recognized by the Society; enrolled in a related course of study; or students who may be considering a career in landscape architecture. Free Associate Member: Current ASLA student members graduating from an accredited landscape architecture program or a program recognized by the Society are entitled to one free year of associate membership. International Member: National Dues $290 A landscape architect residing outside the limits of the Society. The limits of the Society includes the U.S. and its possessions, Canada, Mexico and the islands of the Caribbean. Chapter dues are not required for international membership. Corporate Member: National Dues $1,750 Any company that supplies landscape architecture products and services is eligible for corporate membership.
