Nka Foundation and the Abetenim Arts Village in Ghana are now accepting internship applications from landscape architecture students for Fall 2013–Summer 2015.

Design/build response to 10x10 Shelter Challenge by Karolina and Wayne Switzer: See a short film of their Ghana workshop experience.

Nka Foundation provides hands-on, site-based internships for landscape architecture students to learn by doing through use of local materials and infrastructure in rural Ghana. Participants live at the Abetenim Arts Village located 40 km southeast of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. A typical responsibility is to collaborate with others to design and build site-specific landscape architecture such as a playground for the local elementary school, a rest shelter, a pond for local species, or a nonfunctional structure over the arts village landscape. Interested? Then contact info@nkafoundation.org / www.nkafoundation.org for an application form.
