Date: 9/10/2012 -– 9/13/2012 Location: Long Beach, California Attendees to the "Pro Walk/Pro Bike®: Pro Place" conference have the opportunity to learn about a host of issues related to planning, designing, and building support for walking and bicycling infrastructure in communities, as well as how that infrastructure can help create great communities and connect key destinations. As the largest bicycling and walking conference in North America, this year’s Pro Walk/ Pro Bike has six session themes, in addition to mobile workshops and peer problem-solving sessions: - Advocate + Include
- Design + Engineer
- Healthy + Safe
- Invest + Govern
- Plan + Connect
- Safe Routes to Schools + Beyond.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about innovative design and planning strategies for active transportation, how to conduct effective public engagement and build strong coalitions, policy and program best practices, collaboration across sectors, and utilization of performance measures.
