Evan Mather, ASLA, has been named as principal of AHBE Landscape Architects of Culver City, California. With more than 20 years of experience in landscape architecture, Mather has led and managed hundreds of successful projects for AHBE and other firms, particularly in the areas of urban design, utilities, public works, and education. |

In his new role, Mather will build upon our experience in landscape infrastructure and sustainable community spaces, and advance AHBE’s involvement in projects that address water quality and conservation, infrastructure, and environmental performance. Mather is a registered landscape architect in California and also an independent filmmaker, known for his short films about design and architectural issues, which include “So What?” an ASLA award-winning documentary about sustainability. He holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University.
Land Design South in West Palm Beach, Florida, has announced several executive promotions that reflect the company’s 27-year commitment to build and maintain a strong and dynamic partnership team. The three directors promoted to principal are Jeff Brophy, ASLA; Brian Terry, ASLA; and Leslie Murrell.

They will join the current partnership team of Robert Bentz, ASLA, and Karen Bentz, ASLA, founding principals; Jennifer Morton, ASLA; Brad Currie; and Jerry Renick.
Brophy originally joined the firm in 2000 and manages the site-planning process for major residential, commercial, civic, and mixed-use developments across south Florida. His commitment to clients has him contributing at all levels of the project, from initial conceptual design through project construction. He has been appointed to many leadership positions in both public and private sector professional groups.
Terry joined the firm in 2003 and has used his master-planning experience to help clients create a vision for their projects. He oversees all aspects of planning for both small- and large-scale residential, commercial, institutional, and recreational developments. As a result of Terry’s leadership in Land Design South’s business development efforts, the announcement says, the firm’s government services division has expanded while maintaining strong private sector client relationships.
Murrell, who started with the firm in 2006, is responsible for land use and comprehensive planning in local government and private sectors in Florida. She oversees a variety of planning projects including current and neighborhood planning efforts. She is involved in research and due diligence for private and public sector clients.
