Description:

Summer [In]stitute is a fast track to launching your landscape architecture career. Explore the methods and theories driving the field, experience the culture of design studios, and develop a portfolio for job and graduate school applications with the expert guidance of faculty mentors.

In the [IN]LAND program, you'll learn the fundamentals of landscape architectural practice through research, making, and experimentation. In a collaborative studio environment, you’ll engage with the concepts of ecology, public space, community, and sustainability at multiple scales of design.

This rigorous six-week intensive program immerses you in landscape architecture on a graduate-degree level. This course is for you if you have a bachelor’s degree in any field and are considering a career in landscape architecture. No previous design experience is necessary.

[IN]LAND includes a lecture series, a design studio, media workshops, and site visits. After fulfilling the program requirements, you'll receive a certificate of completion and credit on an official UC Berkeley transcript. All classes are held in Bauer Wurster Hall, CED's home on the UC Berkeley campus.
