2014
Ramiro VillalvazoRamiro Villalvazo, ASLA, will receive the LaGasse Medal for contributions to the management and conservation of natural resources and public landscapes. Villalvalzo’s prestigious career with the U.S. Forest Service spans four decades. His most recent assignments—including serving as the Forest Service’s chief landscape architect, the forest supervisor for the Eldorado National Forest, and the director of public services for the Pacific Southwest Region—are most noteworthy. He has sought to advance the public’s understanding of the value of public lands and has utilized his training as a landscape architect to improve our nation’s public resources.
